What Are the Symptoms of Swine Flu and How to Avoid it Naturally

By Madeleine Innocent

Question - What are the symptoms of swine flu?

Answer - Exactly the same as any other seasonal flu.

It's important to know that no physical malady has a set symptom collection that is common to everyone. Sure all flus tend to have a fever and body aches. But there are many variations of both of these conditions. And there are many degrees of severity of them, too. Not only that, but each person will have their own personal and unique additional symptoms.

Sure the test may come back that you have swine flu. but that simply means the seasonal strain is known as that. It could easily be known as the 2009 seasonal flu strain, as that is really what it is. Each year, different strains appear. It's normal.

And your symptoms remain the same. They are peculiar to you.

Question - How do you avoid the flu, any flu?

Answer - There is really only one answer to that. You see, you only get the flu (or any other health problem, because your immune system is not working as it should). Bring that back up to a good, working level;, and you will be able to resist any flu, while others are falling around you.

Question - How do you raise your immunity?

Answer - By eating healthily, by getting a regular amount of sunshine of your bare skin (no sunscreen), by getting your optimum amount of sleep, by exercising regularly, by being out in nature regularly, by dealing with stresses and relationship difficulties as they arise and by treating your ailments holistically, preferably with homeopathy

What is Swine Flu - H1N1 Virus?

By Ricky Ahuja

Swine flu, now called H1N1 influenza A, is a type of flu virus. It is a new strain of flu that has just recently been affecting people. It is not caught from pigs or by eating pork. It is a human influenza virus and is being spread by people. It is thought to be a combination of three different flu viruses - swine flu, bird flu and human flu. The new strain is extremely contagious and is quickly spreading across the globe.

H1N1 is different from other strains of influenza. This particular strain of influenza has not been previously exposed to humans before so there are no built up immunities to it. This is what makes it so serious. At the current time there is no preventative drug that you can take in order to avoid getting it. That is why people who are elderly, very young or those who have compromised immune systems must be extremely careful to avoid getting the flu.

Just how dangerous it will be remains to be seen. We are just beginning to see the start of the cases in the United States. It is thought to have originated in Mexico but has since spread globally. The worst cases of it seem to be in Mexico, likely because many people were unaware of the dangers of the flu and did not seek immediate medical treatment.

It was renamed H1N1 influenza A to avoid people making a connection to pigs. This is similar in some ways to the flu that hit the world decades ago. However it is proving to be more serious. The outbreak is becoming serious because nobody has any immunity to this particular strain of influenza. It is estimated that approximately 1 in 4 people who come into contact with swine flu with contract it.

The swine flu has similar symptoms to standard seasonal flu bugs. Swine flu is characterized by a high fever at first and extreme fatigue along with muscle aches. There are also typical cold symptoms that accompany the swine flu including a cough and a sore throat and stuffy nose. Some people additionally have reported nausea or vomiting and diarrhea. The severity of the symptoms is what leads most doctors to consider a diagnosis of swine flu.

Anyone who has the symptoms should seek medical attention right away. Those who get immediate treatment are most likely going to make a full recovery. Doctors take a nose and throat swab sample to send to the lab for testing. The results will be returned within several days. The treatment is a drug called Tamiflu. The doctor will prescribe Tamiflu if it is needed. Most people will get over the swine flu within just a few days. Once you have had swine flu your body will have an immunity from this particular strain in the future.

Biography of Muhammad Ali Jinnah

by JinnahSeQuaid

Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on 25th December 1876 at Vazeer Mansion Karachi, was the first of seven children of Jinnahbhai, a prosperous merchant. After being taught at home, Jinnah was sent to the Sindh Madrasasah High School in 1887. Later he attended the Mission High School, where, at the age of 16, he passed the matriculation examination of the University of Bombay. On the advice of an English friend, his father decided to send him to England to acquire business experience. Jinnah, however, had made up his mind to become a barrister. In keeping with the custom of the time, his parents arranged for an early marriage for him before he left for England. In London he joined Lincoln's Inn, one of the legal societies that prepared students for the bar. In 1895, at the age of 19, he was called to the bar. While in London Jinnah suffered two severe bereavements--the deaths of his wife and his mother. Nevertheless, he completed his formal studies and also made a study of the British political system, frequently visiting the House of Commons. He was greatly influenced by the liberalism of William E. Gladstone, who had become prime minister for the fourth time in 1892, the year of Jinnah's arrival in London. Jinnah also took a keen interest in the affairs of India and in Indian students. When the Parsi leader Dadabhai Naoroji, a leading Indian nationalist, ran for the English Parliament, Jinnah and other Indian students worked day and night for him. Their efforts were crowned with success, and Naoroji became the first Indian to sit in the House of Commons. When Jinnah returned to Karachi in 1896, he found that his father's business had suffered losses and that he now had to depend on himself. He decided to start his legal practice in Bombay, but it took him years of work to establish himself as a lawyer. Jinnah first entered politics by participating in the 1906 Calcutta session of the Indian National Congress, the party that called for dominion status and later for independence for India. Four years later he was elected to the Imperial Legislative Council--the beginning of a long and distinguished parliamentary career. In Bombay he came to know, among other important Congress personalities, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, the eminent Maratha leader. Greatly influenced by these nationalist politicians, Jinnah aspired during the early part of his political life to become "a Muslim Gokhale." Admiration for British political institutions and an eagerness to raise the status of India in the international community and to develop a sense of Indian nationhood among the peoples of India were the chief elements of his politics. At that time, he still looked upon Muslim interests in the context of Indian nationalism. Jinnah had originally been dubious about the practicability of Pakistan, an idea that Sir Muhammad Iqbal had propounded to the Muslim League conference of 1930; but before long he became convinced that a Muslim homeland on the Indian subcontinent was the only way of safeguarding Muslim interests and the Muslim way of life. It was not religious persecution that he feared so much as the future exclusion of Muslims from all prospects of advancement within India as soon as power became vested in the close-knit structure of Hindu social organisation. To guard against this danger he carried on a nation-wide campaign to warn his coreligionists of the perils of their position, and he converted the Muslim League into a powerful instrument for unifying the Muslims into a nation. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, addressing a procession on 23rd March, 1940 At this point, Jinnah emerged as the leader of a renascent Muslim nation. Events began to move fast. On March 22-23, 1940, in Lahore, the league adopted a resolution to form a separate Muslim state, Pakistan. The Pakistan idea was first ridiculed and then tenaciously opposed by the Congress. But it captured the imagination of the Muslims. Pitted against Jinnah were men of the stature of Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. And the British government seemed to be intent on maintaining the political unity of the Indian subcontinent. But Jinnah led his movement with such skill and tenacity that ultimately both the Congress and the British government had no option but to agree to the partitioning of India. Pakistan thus emerged as an independent state in 14th August, 1947. Jinnah became the first head of the new state i.e. Pakistan. He took oath as the first governor general on August 15, 1947. Faced with the serious problems of a young nation, he tackled Pakistan's problems with authority. He was not regarded as merely the governor-general; he was revered as the father of the nation. He worked hard until overpowered by age and disease in Karachi. He died on 11th September, 1948 at Karachi

What is Pain? - Nurse's Simple Explanation

If you've ever wondered what is pain I'll explain what it is here.
If you've ever had a feeling that's uncomfortable to any degree it's probably pain. This symptom, feeling, discomfort, tingling, burning, soreness, aching or hurt tells your brain that something is wrong with your body and sends it a warning message.
It starts with the nerves and spinal cord and passes the message to your brain and also to other parts of the body.
Underneath and in your skin, lie thousands of cells called receptor cells. They detect light, cold, heat, pressure, touch and pain. Most of the receptor cells will sense pain. A few of them will sense cold.
Whenever you suffer an injury or trauma the receptor cells communicate with your brain by sending messages along the nerves and nerve pathways into your spinal cord. The spinal cord then sends the messages on to your brain.
If you have surgery, the injury from cutting during surgery sends messages to the brain by way of the nerves and spinal cord. If you're properly medicated or given pain medication before and during surgery then you won't be able to feel any pain because the messages have been blocked.
Pain can be mild or severe or anything in between. It can be annoying like you might have with an injury from a small cut. Or you might have severe pain after surgery, called post-surgical pain which may or may not be helped by painkillers, drugs or medication. This pain after surgery is a message to the brain that something is wrong or something is going on that needs to be attended to. Sometimes you can't relieve the pain even with drugs or medications.
There can be thousands of causes for pain and many times you may not know the cause.
What is pain or painful to you may not be to someone else. Pain can be acute or chronic. It's considered acute is it lasts for less than three months. It's considered chronic if it lasts for more than three months.
The textbook explanation of pain is - an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage - hope I don't lose you here.
And there are basically three types: somatic, visceral and neuropathic.
As bad as pain can be sometimes, without it we would be in a heap of trouble. Small pains can usually be taken care of with natural treatments. Its treatment should be focused on a natural approach first.
Pain medication or painkillers should not be the first choice if natural treatments work. Sometimes it's better for your body to tolerate a little pain instead of taking painkillers. All drugs have side effects and adverse reactions. You can be exposing your body to more injury with medications. Try natural methods first to treat it or get pain relief.
Always check with your doctor or pain specialist first before undergoing any new treatment.
I hope this gives you a basic idea as to what is pain. If you're having pain that won't go away try natural treatments first to relieve it. There are many treatments that are being used successfully to stop, diminish or control pain.
For a nurse's little-known pain relief secrets and methods, some your doctor doesn't know, for how you can stop, diminish or control your pain and get pain relief for all types of acute or chronic pain go to http://www.painrelieffast.com/ for treatments, therapies, techniques and natural pain relief

Developing Creative Intelligence - The Ability to See Different Angles

By GK Eckert

The ability to see things in a different light, from a different angle is crucial to developing creative intelligence.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge..." Albert Einstein

Creative Intelligence is always inquisitive

I had a friend once that was quite a brilliant fellow. His job was trouble shooting for the Northern Canada Power Commission in the Northwest Territories where I lived. When they had a black out, they called him.

Now this fellow was certainly knowledgeable, but it wasn't the knowledge that they called him for as much as his creativity. Not only could he find the problem, but he could rig up some way to get them operating again, even if what he really needed wasn't on hand. He was ace at seeing endless angles. Now that is creativity at its finest.

Everyone has moments of creative genius

I know that at home alone, faced with some broken down something or other, I have come up with a stroke of genius and managed to fix the problem. I found a new angle that enabled me to get by, until a proper repair person could look after the problem for me.

Now someone who knew about such things might have come by and not be impressed at all by my stroke of genius. They may even tell me that that solution has been used many times and is nothing new. But for me it was genius, because I didn't know about it -- I came up with the idea all on my own, a new angle.

I challenge you to remember, and find your own creative genius at work! -- when you saw a new angle. There is your creative intelligence!

Sometimes we're just lazy and use our genius only when necessary

Now in the case of my brilliant find above, if a handy friend of mine had been around, I probably would have just asked him and never have used my own brilliance. How often do we do that?

The truth is the more you use, the sharper it gets.

Take it apart

Back to my earlier friend, he told me about himself when he was a child. He said that he was always getting into trouble for taking things apart. And I mean everything and anything. He was so curious to find out how it worked, how it went together, that left on his own for any period time, he was taking "it" apart.

I remember once, being in the Mayo L.I.D., this small tiny community in the Northwest Territories where I was training a woman to take over my job. The two of us took apart the photocopier. We cleaned it and put it back together. And it worked! We had no experience whatsoever and had no idea what we were doing. We laid every little piece and every little screw carefully in order as we took it apart.

After wards, the two of us were giggling with delight. Couldn't believe we did it or even that we had the nerve to try. But there was no repair available. So we tried it. It is absolutely amazing what each of us is really capable of, when the desire is strong enough.

To develop your creative intelligence you need to use it

If you really want to develop your creative intelligence, you've got to use it. The next time you are faced with a problem, try to solve it yourself. If it's not your area of expertise, see if you can't solve it instead of running to someone else.

If you find yourself wondering how something is put together, take it apart and understand how it works. Maybe come up with a new version. Just for fun.

Exercises you can try to stimulate - "new angle" thinking

  • how many uses - take any object or tool, and list how many uses you can dream up other than its original intended use.
  • rearrange a room - create a better arrangement that enhances traffic flow, or better utilizes the space
  • reorganize your kitchen cupboards - find a more efficient way to organize
  • problem solving - don't stop at the first solution, find endless solutions

Put your imagination to work. Don't just accept one solution, or the first one. Look at all the angles. You will find that it becomes a natural habit and you will begin waking up your creative intelligence.

In order to see new angles you must think new angles

Practice finding a new slant on everything and anything you can. You'll discover that we let our brains run on idle a lot of the time. And truly, when they're running on idle, they're generally up to no good. And what I mean by that is -- generally thinking worrisome thoughts about the possible future or rehashing old unfortunate incidences from the past. Such a waste of your creative mind!

Get your mind active, look for new angles at every opportunity and you will be surprised to find the capabilities of your own mind. Think and be creative and begin developing your own creative intelligence.

The Health Benefits of Common Spices, Including Black Pepper, Cinnamon, and Cayenne

By Anne Clarke

Black pepper, cinnamon, cayenne pepper – none of these spices are new or unusual to most people. In fact, these are spices that many of us use on a regular basis, especially black pepper. But did you know that these spices also have many health benefits? Did you know that there is more reason to use these spices than to simply add flavor and spice to a meal?

Black Pepper

In America, black pepper is one of the most commonly used spices. In fact, it is not uncommon for a person to use pepper with every meal – a little on his eggs, a bit on his sandwich and salad, a lot on his steak and corn… Fortunately, as it turns out, this is a good thing. Why? Because black pepper is good for us!

Black pepper improves digestion by stimulating the taste buds and thereby alerting the stomach to increase hydrochloric secretion. Black pepper is also an antioxidant, and it has antibacterial effects. But wait – there’s more! You will be very happy to know that the outermost layer of the peppercorn actually helps stimulate the breakdown of fat cells!

Black pepper also helps prevent the formation of intestinal gas, promotes urination, and promotes sweating. It is full of manganese, and it also has a good amount of iron and dietary fiber, as well.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon also has a very healthy dose of manganese, but the health benefits of cinnamon are different than those of black pepper. Cinnamon can help eliminate and prevent the clumping of blood platelets. The scent of cinnamon can boost brain function – in other words, smelling cinnamon can improve your virtual recognition memory, working memory, and more!

Cinnamon can also help stop the growth of bacteria. Some even say that cinnamon can be used as spicy alternative to traditional food preservatives. For people with type 2 diabetes, cinnamon is wonderful – it can help them respond to insulin and thereby normalize their blood sugar levels.

Cayenne

The list of benefits from cayenne pepper seems to go on and on: it fights inflammation, prevents stomach ulcers, boosts immunity, offers pain relief, has cardiovascular benefits, and helps clear congestion. It seems that no matter your ailment, a dose of cayenne will help you out! Cayenne is also full of vitamin A.

Who knew that making your food taste good could be so good for you? So, go ahead and add a little spice to your meal. Adding a bit of spice to your life may actually help you increase your lifespan!

Dead Sea Anti Wrinkle Treatment

By Chaim Golz

Are you aware of the theories of 2012 Mayan

Prophecies? As far as most people are concerned, a theory remains to be a theory unless an event occurs to prove the theory is right. This goes for the 2012 theory as well. The Mayan Calendar is an extremely accurate assessment of phases and distinctive events. It holds a lot of information about the Mayan culture as well as the controversial explanation of distinct events.

The 2012 Mayan Prophecies state that the end of the entire world will occur on December 12, 2012. This foretelling is based on the Mesoamerican start charting that began in the early 680 B.C. The Mayans are generally very adept in tracking winter solstice and gifted in making calendars.

The Mayans are an exceptionally bright peoples, adept in creating calendars of their own. Their calendar is called The Long Count. The Mayans mainly use their own careful observations to determine coming events such as how the stars move about the sky. Did you know that the Ancient Mayans were the first to discover the effect of the earth's wobbling when it spins on its own axis? They were also aware of many celestial things that have only recently been discovered through science.

Besides the Mayans, there are many other predictions that say that the world will come to an end in December 2012. The explanations vary from disasters, such as major cosmic catastrophe, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, wars and other extraordinary events culminating on December 12, 2012. Even Nostradamus had a lot to say regarding 2012. Due to this it seems that one should seriously consider the facts behind the theories.

If you are concerned about the events of 2012 mentioned in Mayan Calendar you should take action. Do your own research to determine what you believe. You may determine that there really isn't much to the predictions and then move on and let December 2012 come and go without much further thought. On the other hand, maybe you'll decide that there is enough evidence that something significant will happen in December 2012 that you should make some type of preparations. What we do know for certain is that December 21, 2012 is going to come and go and whatever is going to happen on or around that day is going to happen, regardless of what we believe. Therefore, live your life to the fullest each day because no one is ever promised tomorrow.

If you'd like to learn more about the importance of the events in 2012 you may want to check out this web site http://pullthrough2012.com

Venice - Italy

By Hannah Rollmaker

Situated on the north side of Italy, and having a population of approximately 271,500, the city of Venice is considered as one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. Sometimes it is referred to as "City of Water"

and sometimes as "City of Light".

Geographically the city itself is divided into six divisions which are named as "Cannaregio, Castello, Dosoduro, San Marco, San Polo and Santa Croce.

Inside Venice almost all the buildings are made on the bases of solid wood because of the sinking factor of Venice.

The climatic conditions are the same as expected in Italy. The city has moderate temperature ranges even during the peak seasons of winters and summers. The coldest months of the city starts from November and remains until the middle of February. The temperature variations are between 0 and -5 degrees. Relatively nights are much cooler. Venice receives most of the rainfall during this season. The peak seasons for summers are from June to August and the temperature ranges from 24 to 30 degrees.

Most of the transportation means inside Venice use to be boats but now these boats are replaced by water boats which are now the most common means of transportation for the people of Venice.

The Italian government has constructed a new airport in Venice named as "Marco Polo International Airport" and it has been named after the famous Marco Polo of Venice.

Cars cannot be used inside Venice as the city is full of water, although some reports suggest that Venice has stopped sinking, still people of Venice prefer these water buses for travelling. Also as there is water in the city so it is very dangerous to build roads for cars.

The city of Venice hosts many cultural festivals out of which most famous and highly anticipated is the "Carnival of Venice". It comes one time in a year and is basically a dance and gathering of people. The people contributing in the carnival of Venice wear traditional masks.

Venice is considered a strong city regarding culture, music and entertainment. As the city's night life is a prominent one among the different city's of Italy. Venice basically is considered as the starting or birth place of music. Music composition and music publication started from Venice by a person named "Ottaviano Petrucci". He started using the necessary equipment as soon it was invented, which afterwards became a well known musical organization which attracted most of the musicians from central Europe. Venice is also considered to be the inventor of many musical instruments.

Venice is basically a very complicated and compact city so there are not many parks and open grounds but as the city is very rich in history Venice has a number of museums which are mostly the destinations for tourists to visit. These museums display different areas and also focus on different eras of the years Venice experienced.

Power of the Pen

By Jason Keels

In the past, presently and certainly in the future, written words have had a power that remains exclusive to this form of communication. They've had the ability to influence the entire philosophical mindset of the world so that the actions of whole populations were guided by parameters spelled out by words etched on pages. Thought processes were changed by Marx's Das Kapital and Communist Manifesto which shifted the mode of operation for governments forever. Even in nations like the United States or Britain that had never been officially declared Communist or Socialist, laws now accepted as standard were legislated to accommodate and in a sense pacify the potentially revolutionary ideas that were permanently ingrained in the minds of the masses. Labor unions, the concept of a minimum wage, and safety regulations at the workplace are just a few of the institutions existing today that have their root in Marxist teachings. Darwin's Origin of the Species is not just the major contributor for the scientific community to ignore science itself to preach the theory evolution which in turn brainwashed and is still brainwashing millions upon millions of school children so that they reject the creative power of God so consequentially God Himself, but the idea of natural selection played a key role in the justification of bigotry and German conquest.

The Aryanism that Hitler propagated came out of Darwinism as well as the belief that Germany was like an organism needing room to grow so therefore expansion was necessary for survival. Civilians of Poland in 1939 who never heard of Origin of the Species had it to thank for the bombs dropping on their homes. Countless other works have molded the world into the shape it's in currently and we walk among the fruits of their tenets daily. It's not merely philosophers, professors and social scientists of bygone centuries whose writings sway today's world events but regular city newspapers and nationally circuited magazines flex their muscles in controlling public opinion. A few unflattering lines in a newspaper concerning a politician can destroy a career whether or not they be accurate or terminate the campaign of a presidential hopeful. The clout of a simple article backed by dubious research was expressed for all to see when the accusation of a Qu'ran being flushed down a toilet at an American detention center hit the press setting off massive protests in various Islamic nations.

Dictators throughout time have grasped the notion of how flammable printed words can be and combated this by having book burnings, jailing authors who wrote things contrary to the ideology of the ruling party and infusing the country with state sponsored propaganda, all for the preservation of the regime. It's not surprising that literature and journalism are such powerful tools when God chose the Bible, an accumulation of writings, to communicate His character and will for mankind. He could've chosen to flash huge signs across the sky as His primary way of speaking to us, but He picked text and that can't be overlooked or underestimated.

We tend to toss around the term "author" regularly but it is highly probable that many times the true meaning, which happens to be the Biblical meaning, isn't thoroughly thought upon. In the book of Hebrews, the word that was translated as "author" comes actually from two separate Greek words. The first is aitios which means "causer" and the other is archegos which means "captain" or "prince." To be the author of something you are in a position of authority and causing an action to occur. Then the question of what action is taking place arises. To answer that it must be understood that all creation begins as a thought. For example, a man pictures a house in his head, builds it and now everyone can see the physical fruit of his intangible thought. No one could bring forth the precise representation of what resided in his head without him, so the supreme authority on the building of the house is him. He caused the house to happen so in a sense he's the author of it. When a human wants to author a piece of writing, the content of it exists first only in their mind. It can't be seen, touched, heard or smelled by anyone. When those thoughts are expressed in the shape of words and read by others, one person's intellectual concepts, ideas, views and beliefs are passed to another. The transfer of the cognitive activity in one individual's mind to manifest in someone else's is the cause that takes place in authorship. God is an author, being the creator and king of everything. Romans 1:20 tells us that the invisible things of God, which means His personality, thought processes and feelings can be seen in His creations. Now you must have wisdom, knowledge, understanding and an intimate relationship with Him to interpret them correctly, but they're there to see. The same is true of the Bible. The writings inside of it are a direct excerpt from the mind of God, showing His personality, thought processes and feelings giving access to those who have the correct relationship with Him. In short, reading is the way in which thoughts transfer without having sight and hearing filter and distort the interpretation or meaning. No wonder God chose this vehicle as a premier method of getting to know Him.

Today the world is overwhelmed with books, magazines, essays and other written work authored by unbelievers that infiltrates countless minds with the thought processes of the enemy. There are only two kingdoms. What is needed to combat this are Christian writers, journalists and poets with the aim of advancing the Kingdom to put out bodies of work for the general population to read so they can get a dose of the truth. The world has manufactured their own brand of wellness, healing, peace, wholeness, spirituality and put it to print for the masses to eat up. Worse yet, they've defined what a Christian is and even our God. Many times the average unbeliever that you'd meet in the grocery store has alarming misconceptions of God and Christianity because most of the time their information is obtained by lukewarm vessels within the church or media sources completely outside of it. There must be an alternative to having solely the enemy's philosophies and viewpoints filling the bookstores, libraries and newsstands. This doesn't necessarily mean beating people over the head with the name of Jesus in a poem but it equates the expressing the mind of God. When it is read, then concepts conveyed must war with those already in place inside a mind that hasn't been renewed. The laws and nature of the Kingdom along with that of its sovereign can be articulated in any piece of writing without jingoistic prose that can often be a repellant. Christian authors by no means should hide their light under a bushel but confining Kingdom writers to producing multi-paged sermons will result in only Christians reading it and consequentially a limited push in the marketplace. That's why it's imperative for us master multiple genres so we can communicate to various segments of society in a language they're familiar with. C.S. Lewis was a genius at this, having the ability to put together The Chronicles of Narnia and also author the vastly dissimilar Mere Christianity. The naysayer and pessimist might suggest that C.S. Lewis was from another time and that studies show the popularity of reading declines steadily each year. The fact is that reading can penetrate the brain on a different level than television so as long as that's true Christians must write. Along with that, those who claim no one cares for books become confounded when Harry Potter sweeps around the world like a firestorm and with each new volume, young and old are desensitized to blatant witchcraft. The kingdom of darkness isn't done with literature so God's children shouldn't be either.

In order to effectively author the message of the Kingdom, you can't write out of your own ability and strength. That's only promoting yourself, not genius nor competent infiltration of the marketplace. Our genius comes from God so without Him our writing will merely be another book on the shelf and truly advantageous for no one. Prayer time and genuine Bible study are necessary to grow closer to the Father so when writing ideas come to mind they're saturated with Kingdom principles because you've spent so much time with Him and can't write anything else. The world doesn't need more human generated opinions and viewpoints. They need God so we must have a close enough relationship with Him to write what He requires. With the sovereign creator of the universe orchestrating the movement of our pen, the Kingdom will be advanced every time we put it to a page.

Number 13: The Legends, Myths, and Facts

Why does the number 13 evoke feelings of
uncertainty and uneasiness? Is it really an
unlucky number? What started this stigma
about 13?

Triskaidekaphobia
means the fear of number 13.
Sometimes, this fear triggers panic attacks, affects
family and business relationships. Is this rooted
in superstition? Number 13 reflects man’s fear
of the unknown.

Tradition traces this fear of 13 at the table to the
Last Supper- Jesus dined with his twelve apostles.
The inference was someone was going to die
within a short time. Judas betrayed Jesus,
overcome by his guilt, he hang himself.

Mythology has its own story. The Norse gods were
having a banquet for 12 at the Valhalla when Loki,
one of the evil gods gatecrashed the party. Balder
was the god of light, joy and reconciliation. He had
a blind brother whom Loki tricked into throwing a
sprig of mistletoe on Balder’s chest which killed
him ( Balder). Mistletoe is the only earthly thing
that was fatal to Balder.

Into the Middle Ages, the stigma against Friday
the 13th grew stronger. On Friday, October 13, 1307,
King Phillip !V of France ordered the arrest of the
Grand Master of the Knights Templar and his senior
knights and other members. They were tortured to
compel them to admit to “wrongdoings.”

And they were executed. Sympathizers of the Templars
condemned Friday the 13th as an evil day.

Later in the 18th century, this belief about Friday the 13th
was again reinforced. The British ship HMS Friday was
launched on a Friday , the 13th , the captain was a man
named Jim Friday. The ship was never seen nor heard
from again.

Do these events justify the stigma attached to
number 13? It is documented that this fear of Friday the
13th costs millions of dollars a year in business loss
due absenteeism and cancelled appointments .

Some “unlucky” events associated with 13 is
the famous Apollo 13 mission in 1970. It was
launched on 1313 hours, from pad 39 ( 13 x 3),
3 of the sleeping arrangements for the astronauts
were timed to start at 13 minutes past the hour
and so was one of the possible splashdown.

On April 13th, the first of the several setbacks to
Apollo 13 occurred and this added drama to the mission.

In many hotels and skyscrapers, there is no 13th
floor. Most airplanes have no seat No. 13. In Italy,
it is usual to leave out 13 in numbering the
lottery tickets.

Thirteen for dinner? Not in France. A party of
thirteen can hire a professional quatorzieme, a
fourteenth person, from an agency. In some big
hospitals, there is no Operating Room 13, to
spare the patient added anxiety being wheeled
into Room 13.

13 is the ideal number of people in a coven.
It is believed that to left-handed people, 13
is their lucky number.

But why is number 13 given such a negative
implication? This dates back to many centuries,
and still holds today in the 21st century.

Perhaps the anticipation of the negativity of
number 13 makes it a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Why could it not be any number?

Do You Know What a Robot Is?

Robots are one of the most popular visions of the future, evident in many science fiction novels, from Isaac Asimov's "I Robot" to Douglas Adam's "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." Often humankind fears that robotics technology could get so advanced that these cybernetic organisms will begin thinking and acting for themselves, with little regard for human hierarchy. However, the robots we use today are quite harmless and perform a number of useful functions.

Scientists are looking at how robots may function medically to help people live longer, more productive lives. For instance, researchers found that test monkeys can move a robotic hand simply by using their minds. That hand can wave, peel a banana and pick up items, just by reading the brain's electrical output.

Doctors say medical robots can help stroke victims or paraplegics accomplish everyday tasks. Currently, electronic wheelchairs can maneuver and computers can type based on one's thoughts. Dr. Bruce Volpe of the Burke Medical Research Institute is developing a "robotic therapist," which will help stroke patients perform arm exercises. "By improving movement in the shoulder and upper arm, patients can do simple things like push objects across a table, use a computer mouse or write," he explains.

Rehabilitation is another fascinating use for robots. At a consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, Paro Roberts revealed his $6,000 robotic seals that may replace cat and dog therapeutic robots used in hospitals and nursing homes. These exotic machines are also finding their way into homes, as they're cheaper (and easier) than caring for a traditional pet.

This robot, named Paro after its creator, reacts with noises and expressions of approval or disapproval, depending on how it's handled. Japanese robotics engineering creators say that robots could be the key to helping an aging population with problems of loneliness. "Playing with robots reduces problem behavior and they gain a certain peace of mind," explains Toshiyo Tamura, a professor at the National Institute for Longevity Sciences.

Who could forget the ever-so-endearing "Rosie," the house-cleaning robot from The Jetsons? While she seemed like every homeowner's dream come true back in 1962, her doppelgangers are now becoming a reality in 2009. Engineers at MIT Humanoid Robot Group say "Domo" can place objects on a shelf, put away dishes, turn lights on or off, fetch items, put away groceries, set the table, carry boxes and follow basic commands. While the technology is far too expensive to be commonplace in every household right now, the future for intelligent robots is bright.

Build Your Own Windmill Cheaply and Lower Electricity Bills

One main downside of renewable energies is the cost usually involved in ready made solutions. An assembled 1 KW windmill can cost anything between $2000 and $5000, depending on materials and design. A DIY solution is therefore the only option left to switch to green energy without going bankrupt, which would defeat the purpose of lowering electricity bills in the first place. Make no mistake, ready made devices are worth every cent, but a buyer must be prepared for a long run investment pay off, if he can afford it at all.

In order to build your own windmill you must follow specific instructions, assuming that you have never done it before. The vast majority of windmills are set on a horizontal axis spun by vertical blades. For aerodynamic reasons the blades are very similar to those of airplane propellers to convert efficiently the wind energy into rotational motion and eventually electricity. A foundation base should be solid enough to hold and stabilize the windmill tower and withstand strong winds, while the tower should be high enough to be clear of obstacles. Building a foundation in cement with a pipe frame is a pretty straight forward task, however things can get a bit daunting when it comes to blades and generators.

Blades and generators may seem out of reach for technophobic guys, but it is possible to build them from materials bought at the local hardware shop for a trivial amount of money, compared to ready made devices. Later, you may need the help of an electrician to connect your DIY mill to the main supply, but nothing else. Such a home made windmill can lower electricity bills, supplying enough energy for the kitchen appliances, for instance, or even cut down costs further by building several units. However, if you want to build your own windmill but do not know where to start, it is better to follow professional guidance from someone who has been there before and done that.

If you want to find out how to build your own windmill, rest assured that it is not as difficult as it sounds. Do not let your lack of technical knowledge be in the way to lower electricity bills. Discover how to build your own windmillcheaply and lower electricity bills now.

Five Reasons to Use Fiber Optics Over LAN Copper

By Riley Higgins

1. The first main advantage of using fiber optic cables is that it is faster. You do not need a professional to prove this to you; anyone who uses the internet with a fiber optic connection can confirm that it is more efficient, especially when downloading larger data files. These cables offer data transmission with speeds up into the gigabits. This is far more efficient than most networks even need.

2. In conjunction with being fast, fiber carries its data farther distances and at a higher capacity than copper. The high efficiency of fiber requires significantly less amplification than copper. Copper typically needs to be amplified and grounded every 100 meters, while fiber can run up to distances 20 times further. This also contributes to one of the several factors of why fiber is cheaper to install and maintain.

3. Security is another advantage fiber optics has over copper. Copper can be more easily tapped and accessed where as fiber has glass based properties. Copper conducts electricity and bears the need to be grounded. It is also susceptible of damage by lightning or other electrical interferences. Fiber cables can be used when exposed to outdoor elements or other electrical cables, and most importantly harsh environments.

4. Fiber optic cables work through total internal reflection. As established before, they transmit zero electricity, but rather light that is not capable of sparking or electrocuting if mishandled or damaged. This makes installation and maintenance safer and easier.

5. Despite its' glass properties, fiber has a much larger pull strength when compared to copper. Copper has a 25 lb. limit, making installation a longer, and more tedious task. Fiber on the other hand, has a standard pull strength of 100-200 lbs. It is capable of even higher rated pull strengths if innovative assemblies are applied. Armored fiber optic cables have metal sleeves embedded into the assembly. These fiber optic cables are for rugged use such as field military work.

Riley Higgins is the webmaster of FiberOne Connectivity. FiberOne Connectivity designs and distributes cost-effective fiber optic products and integrated modules that increase the bandwidth and flexibility of today's communication networks. Flying Your Cessna

By George Cayley

A Cessna flight simulator refers to a specific simulation game that provides realistic and perfect simulation of the Cessna modeled aircrafts in a simulated environment. These flights are modeled after a special light plane called the Cessna which came into existence in the mid 1950's. The simulator flights are gaining fame by the day as they tend to get more addictive and feature on most people's favorite list.

The Cessna flight simulator is an add-on to some of the games and in some games it is already included. Thus the game can be very accurately modeled as people work a lot and give in a lot for just this one kind of simulation. The Cessna flying experience was first included in the mother of all simulators - "The Microsoft flight simulator". Microsoft has always been a pioneer in this field and the latest edition of this game has made the game much more interesting in comparison to the other games. The Cessna aircraft was found in America and the game is all about deriving the right type of experience from flying this Aircraft. The game is made with the sole objective of getting a perfect glimpse of the Cessna aircraft in all its glory. The game was made available with a lot of simulators.

The Cessna flight simulators are also compatible with a lot of controls and since the Cessna have plane variations it is the perfect type of add-on to start learning to fly. On the simulator the plane is fun and a thrill to handle. People interested in flying the Cessna will instantaneously be addicted and the game is given bigger and better atones in terms of scope and realism when people are into it. I can personally drown myself into hours of playing this game as it is fun, realistic and immersive.

Rest assured, I have tested out nearly every Flight Sim on the market today, and I have found one which I can personally recommend.
Stop wasting your money and time on disappointing flight simulators.

I have put them all through the test and after hundreds of hours flying I have finally found a winner and I can guarantee it will be the closest you will get to a Real Life Flying experience without actually leaving your house.

Bake Bread at Home - Naan - A Simple Introduction - Remember to Read All the Words!

By John C Shelton

First your should take a deep breath, get out Kitchen Aid and attach dough hook, and think about how good your bread will be. Then measure out:

  • 3 T Ghee or room temperature butter
  • 1 Cup finely chopped or grated onion (I'll probably make it without the onion so that my mother can/will eat some bread) 1/2 Cup Warm water
  • 1t salt 1 and
  • 1/2 to 2 Cups bread flour

Place your 12 inch skillet over high heat to cook on medium high heat. In the skillet, melt 1T butter or ghee, then add onions, reduce heat to low and cook 5 minutes or until onions are soft and brown.

Remove to bowl and cool to room temperature. Melt the rest of the butter and add to mixing bowl. Add the water onion salt and 1 and ½ cups flour to bowl. Work the mixed ingredients until a ball forms on the hook. If its still sticky add flour until it feels good. Turn the dough out onto your floured work surface and knead by hand for a couple of minutes until the dough is slightly firm. Divide the dough into eight pieces, form them into balls, and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Dough likes to rest. Pay attention. The dough will look different when you return. Roll out each ball into an 8 inch round. If the dough keeps springing back, move on to another ball and let the recalcitrant ball rest some more. Once the ball relaxes, it will form a round and stay there for you.

After you have rolled out your flat round breads, heat skillet on high heat. When a drop of water instantly turns to steam, you are ready to go. Put a round in the pan. Cook 3 to 4 minutes per side. Put cooked Naan on a cooling rack or it will get soggy. After you cook them, serve with your Indian food and eat it! People will be impressed. They'll ask you if you've lost weight? Did you get a haircut? Just start to bake and remember to read all the words in the recipe!

John C. Shelton is a recovering attorney, husband, father of two, and newbie blogger. After 15 years in the wilderness (lawyers, on whole are a cranky lot) he is looking for health, happiness, and satisfaction. He started baking his own bread and gardening somewhat late in life.

Tips on Pigeon Control

By Asaf Reich

Pigeons are found in every corner of the world. Considering the amount of nuisance they create, it is very important to control them. This can be done by adopting an effective pigeon control measure.

Need for control on pigeons:

The most common problem involving pigeons is that their droppings contain a high amount of uric acid that causes discoloration of paints and erosion of metals. In rural areas, pigeons create lot of problems for farmers. Therefore, it is very important to have a proper pigeon control strategy.

Tips on pigeon & bird control:

The most preferred pigeon control methods are exclusion, deterrence, crop management and population or infest reduction. Numerous ways exist by which people can stop the nuisance of pigeons. These include:

1. Natural pigeon control: You can prevent pigeons from encroaching areas such as terrace and courtyard by using 'block-off nesting' and netting techniques. You may also make use of several strong spices such as pepper, garlic and cayenne, which act as deterrents for pigeons and reduce their infestation in the gardens. Natural pigeon control methods do not harm them physically.

2. Pigeon spikes: Pigeon spikes are a common product used in bird control method. They prevent pigeons from nesting on the roof, ledge or any other habitation area. 'Defender 4T pigeon spikes' are the most effective and economical spikes available for pigeon & bird control.

3. Bird spikes: 'Defender 4T', a kind of bird spike, is a very effective pigeon control tool.

4. Pigeon deterrents: They offer effective and safe protection from property damage caused by nesting pigeons.

5. Bird repellents: This bird repellent has 13-inch long plastic base along with multiple stainless steel wires that protrude upwards in 4 different angles. They can be used as physical barriers to prevent pigeon encroachment.

6. Pigeon wires: You can also prefer installing pigeon wires on your terrace or courtyard. Pigeon wires are not only affordable, but also very effective pigeon control tools.

7. Anti-roosting bird spikes: These kinds of spikes, when glued on to windows and other areas where pigeons flourish, work effectively. Its protruding pins do not hurt pigeons but compel them to find other roosting places.

Pigeon droppings also contain many pathogens such as viruses and bacteria. These pathogens are responsible for transmitting pigeon diseases such as Coccidiosis, Collibacillosis, Pigeon pox, Paratyphoid and Paramyxovirus. Therefore, it will be beneficial for you to adopt any of the above-mentioned pigeon control methods.

Bermuda Triangle Facts - or Fiction?

By Brian Schmidt

One of the few Bermuda Triangle Facts that can be confirmed is the Bermuda Triangle location. In fact, the location of the Bermuda Triangle is somewhat arbitrary as well. There are no official boundaries. However, the triangle is generally assumed to run from Bermuda to Puerto Rico to Miami and back to Bermuda.

A fact that is unexplained about the Bermuda Triangle is that electro-magnetic compasses that normally point to the magnetic north pole, point to the true north pole when used inside the area of the Bermuda Triangle. This phenomena happens in only one place other than the Bermuda Triangle – the Devil’s Sea off the east coast of Asia.

The term Bermuda Triangle was in fact first used in an Argosy Magazine article written by Vincent H. Gaddis in 1964. Since that time, a number of “nicknames” have immerged for the Bermuda Triangle – Limbo of the Lost, Hoodoo Sea, and even Devil’s Triangle – some coined in literature.

One fact is undeniable about the Bermuda Triangle. There have been a number of strange and sometimes unexplained disappearances in the Triangle. The tale of Flight 19 – a group of five Navy torpedo bombers and one search plane disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle area (perhaps!) – is the most notorious of these.

However, there have been strange occurrences observed in the area of the Bermuda Triangle as well. Even as far back as the 1492 crossing of the Atlantic by Christopher Columbus, these have been recorded. Columbus documented in his logs of strange occurrences with his compass in the area that we now consider the Bermuda Triangle.

Another fact about the Bermuda Triangle that is undeniable is that the area has claimed over 1,000 lives in the past 100 years. Some of these are a result of “human error” in navigating the area. However there are always suspicious or unexplained disappearances happening in the Bermuda Triangle.

There is a vast array of lore surrounding the existence of the Bermuda Triangle. Some of this stems from the idea that with-in the Bermuda Triangle lies the lost city of Atlantis in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Off the coast of Bimini, there is a set of underwater steps believed to be part of that civilization. Little exploration can be done because the Bermuda Triangle includes some of the deepest trenches in the Atlantic Ocean – much too deep to explore.

Today, thousands of passages are made through the Bermuda Triangle every year. Virtually every Caribbean cruise originating from the east coast of North America passes through part of the Bermuda Triangle. Modern planes fly to the Caribbean hotspots and from southern United States to Europe through the Bermuda Triangle. Perhaps the next time you travel through the Bermuda Triangle by air or sea you will think of the lost civilization of Atlantis and her mighty power?
