What Are the Symptoms of Swine Flu and How to Avoid it Naturally

By Madeleine Innocent

Question - What are the symptoms of swine flu?

Answer - Exactly the same as any other seasonal flu.

It's important to know that no physical malady has a set symptom collection that is common to everyone. Sure all flus tend to have a fever and body aches. But there are many variations of both of these conditions. And there are many degrees of severity of them, too. Not only that, but each person will have their own personal and unique additional symptoms.

Sure the test may come back that you have swine flu. but that simply means the seasonal strain is known as that. It could easily be known as the 2009 seasonal flu strain, as that is really what it is. Each year, different strains appear. It's normal.

And your symptoms remain the same. They are peculiar to you.

Question - How do you avoid the flu, any flu?

Answer - There is really only one answer to that. You see, you only get the flu (or any other health problem, because your immune system is not working as it should). Bring that back up to a good, working level;, and you will be able to resist any flu, while others are falling around you.

Question - How do you raise your immunity?

Answer - By eating healthily, by getting a regular amount of sunshine of your bare skin (no sunscreen), by getting your optimum amount of sleep, by exercising regularly, by being out in nature regularly, by dealing with stresses and relationship difficulties as they arise and by treating your ailments holistically, preferably with homeopathy

What is Swine Flu - H1N1 Virus?

By Ricky Ahuja

Swine flu, now called H1N1 influenza A, is a type of flu virus. It is a new strain of flu that has just recently been affecting people. It is not caught from pigs or by eating pork. It is a human influenza virus and is being spread by people. It is thought to be a combination of three different flu viruses - swine flu, bird flu and human flu. The new strain is extremely contagious and is quickly spreading across the globe.

H1N1 is different from other strains of influenza. This particular strain of influenza has not been previously exposed to humans before so there are no built up immunities to it. This is what makes it so serious. At the current time there is no preventative drug that you can take in order to avoid getting it. That is why people who are elderly, very young or those who have compromised immune systems must be extremely careful to avoid getting the flu.

Just how dangerous it will be remains to be seen. We are just beginning to see the start of the cases in the United States. It is thought to have originated in Mexico but has since spread globally. The worst cases of it seem to be in Mexico, likely because many people were unaware of the dangers of the flu and did not seek immediate medical treatment.

It was renamed H1N1 influenza A to avoid people making a connection to pigs. This is similar in some ways to the flu that hit the world decades ago. However it is proving to be more serious. The outbreak is becoming serious because nobody has any immunity to this particular strain of influenza. It is estimated that approximately 1 in 4 people who come into contact with swine flu with contract it.

The swine flu has similar symptoms to standard seasonal flu bugs. Swine flu is characterized by a high fever at first and extreme fatigue along with muscle aches. There are also typical cold symptoms that accompany the swine flu including a cough and a sore throat and stuffy nose. Some people additionally have reported nausea or vomiting and diarrhea. The severity of the symptoms is what leads most doctors to consider a diagnosis of swine flu.

Anyone who has the symptoms should seek medical attention right away. Those who get immediate treatment are most likely going to make a full recovery. Doctors take a nose and throat swab sample to send to the lab for testing. The results will be returned within several days. The treatment is a drug called Tamiflu. The doctor will prescribe Tamiflu if it is needed. Most people will get over the swine flu within just a few days. Once you have had swine flu your body will have an immunity from this particular strain in the future.

Biography of Muhammad Ali Jinnah

by JinnahSeQuaid

Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on 25th December 1876 at Vazeer Mansion Karachi, was the first of seven children of Jinnahbhai, a prosperous merchant. After being taught at home, Jinnah was sent to the Sindh Madrasasah High School in 1887. Later he attended the Mission High School, where, at the age of 16, he passed the matriculation examination of the University of Bombay. On the advice of an English friend, his father decided to send him to England to acquire business experience. Jinnah, however, had made up his mind to become a barrister. In keeping with the custom of the time, his parents arranged for an early marriage for him before he left for England. In London he joined Lincoln's Inn, one of the legal societies that prepared students for the bar. In 1895, at the age of 19, he was called to the bar. While in London Jinnah suffered two severe bereavements--the deaths of his wife and his mother. Nevertheless, he completed his formal studies and also made a study of the British political system, frequently visiting the House of Commons. He was greatly influenced by the liberalism of William E. Gladstone, who had become prime minister for the fourth time in 1892, the year of Jinnah's arrival in London. Jinnah also took a keen interest in the affairs of India and in Indian students. When the Parsi leader Dadabhai Naoroji, a leading Indian nationalist, ran for the English Parliament, Jinnah and other Indian students worked day and night for him. Their efforts were crowned with success, and Naoroji became the first Indian to sit in the House of Commons. When Jinnah returned to Karachi in 1896, he found that his father's business had suffered losses and that he now had to depend on himself. He decided to start his legal practice in Bombay, but it took him years of work to establish himself as a lawyer. Jinnah first entered politics by participating in the 1906 Calcutta session of the Indian National Congress, the party that called for dominion status and later for independence for India. Four years later he was elected to the Imperial Legislative Council--the beginning of a long and distinguished parliamentary career. In Bombay he came to know, among other important Congress personalities, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, the eminent Maratha leader. Greatly influenced by these nationalist politicians, Jinnah aspired during the early part of his political life to become "a Muslim Gokhale." Admiration for British political institutions and an eagerness to raise the status of India in the international community and to develop a sense of Indian nationhood among the peoples of India were the chief elements of his politics. At that time, he still looked upon Muslim interests in the context of Indian nationalism. Jinnah had originally been dubious about the practicability of Pakistan, an idea that Sir Muhammad Iqbal had propounded to the Muslim League conference of 1930; but before long he became convinced that a Muslim homeland on the Indian subcontinent was the only way of safeguarding Muslim interests and the Muslim way of life. It was not religious persecution that he feared so much as the future exclusion of Muslims from all prospects of advancement within India as soon as power became vested in the close-knit structure of Hindu social organisation. To guard against this danger he carried on a nation-wide campaign to warn his coreligionists of the perils of their position, and he converted the Muslim League into a powerful instrument for unifying the Muslims into a nation. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, addressing a procession on 23rd March, 1940 At this point, Jinnah emerged as the leader of a renascent Muslim nation. Events began to move fast. On March 22-23, 1940, in Lahore, the league adopted a resolution to form a separate Muslim state, Pakistan. The Pakistan idea was first ridiculed and then tenaciously opposed by the Congress. But it captured the imagination of the Muslims. Pitted against Jinnah were men of the stature of Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. And the British government seemed to be intent on maintaining the political unity of the Indian subcontinent. But Jinnah led his movement with such skill and tenacity that ultimately both the Congress and the British government had no option but to agree to the partitioning of India. Pakistan thus emerged as an independent state in 14th August, 1947. Jinnah became the first head of the new state i.e. Pakistan. He took oath as the first governor general on August 15, 1947. Faced with the serious problems of a young nation, he tackled Pakistan's problems with authority. He was not regarded as merely the governor-general; he was revered as the father of the nation. He worked hard until overpowered by age and disease in Karachi. He died on 11th September, 1948 at Karachi

What is Pain? - Nurse's Simple Explanation

If you've ever wondered what is pain I'll explain what it is here.
If you've ever had a feeling that's uncomfortable to any degree it's probably pain. This symptom, feeling, discomfort, tingling, burning, soreness, aching or hurt tells your brain that something is wrong with your body and sends it a warning message.
It starts with the nerves and spinal cord and passes the message to your brain and also to other parts of the body.
Underneath and in your skin, lie thousands of cells called receptor cells. They detect light, cold, heat, pressure, touch and pain. Most of the receptor cells will sense pain. A few of them will sense cold.
Whenever you suffer an injury or trauma the receptor cells communicate with your brain by sending messages along the nerves and nerve pathways into your spinal cord. The spinal cord then sends the messages on to your brain.
If you have surgery, the injury from cutting during surgery sends messages to the brain by way of the nerves and spinal cord. If you're properly medicated or given pain medication before and during surgery then you won't be able to feel any pain because the messages have been blocked.
Pain can be mild or severe or anything in between. It can be annoying like you might have with an injury from a small cut. Or you might have severe pain after surgery, called post-surgical pain which may or may not be helped by painkillers, drugs or medication. This pain after surgery is a message to the brain that something is wrong or something is going on that needs to be attended to. Sometimes you can't relieve the pain even with drugs or medications.
There can be thousands of causes for pain and many times you may not know the cause.
What is pain or painful to you may not be to someone else. Pain can be acute or chronic. It's considered acute is it lasts for less than three months. It's considered chronic if it lasts for more than three months.
The textbook explanation of pain is - an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage - hope I don't lose you here.
And there are basically three types: somatic, visceral and neuropathic.
As bad as pain can be sometimes, without it we would be in a heap of trouble. Small pains can usually be taken care of with natural treatments. Its treatment should be focused on a natural approach first.
Pain medication or painkillers should not be the first choice if natural treatments work. Sometimes it's better for your body to tolerate a little pain instead of taking painkillers. All drugs have side effects and adverse reactions. You can be exposing your body to more injury with medications. Try natural methods first to treat it or get pain relief.
Always check with your doctor or pain specialist first before undergoing any new treatment.
I hope this gives you a basic idea as to what is pain. If you're having pain that won't go away try natural treatments first to relieve it. There are many treatments that are being used successfully to stop, diminish or control pain.
For a nurse's little-known pain relief secrets and methods, some your doctor doesn't know, for how you can stop, diminish or control your pain and get pain relief for all types of acute or chronic pain go to http://www.painrelieffast.com/ for treatments, therapies, techniques and natural pain relief

Developing Creative Intelligence - The Ability to See Different Angles

By GK Eckert

The ability to see things in a different light, from a different angle is crucial to developing creative intelligence.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge..." Albert Einstein

Creative Intelligence is always inquisitive

I had a friend once that was quite a brilliant fellow. His job was trouble shooting for the Northern Canada Power Commission in the Northwest Territories where I lived. When they had a black out, they called him.

Now this fellow was certainly knowledgeable, but it wasn't the knowledge that they called him for as much as his creativity. Not only could he find the problem, but he could rig up some way to get them operating again, even if what he really needed wasn't on hand. He was ace at seeing endless angles. Now that is creativity at its finest.

Everyone has moments of creative genius

I know that at home alone, faced with some broken down something or other, I have come up with a stroke of genius and managed to fix the problem. I found a new angle that enabled me to get by, until a proper repair person could look after the problem for me.

Now someone who knew about such things might have come by and not be impressed at all by my stroke of genius. They may even tell me that that solution has been used many times and is nothing new. But for me it was genius, because I didn't know about it -- I came up with the idea all on my own, a new angle.

I challenge you to remember, and find your own creative genius at work! -- when you saw a new angle. There is your creative intelligence!

Sometimes we're just lazy and use our genius only when necessary

Now in the case of my brilliant find above, if a handy friend of mine had been around, I probably would have just asked him and never have used my own brilliance. How often do we do that?

The truth is the more you use, the sharper it gets.

Take it apart

Back to my earlier friend, he told me about himself when he was a child. He said that he was always getting into trouble for taking things apart. And I mean everything and anything. He was so curious to find out how it worked, how it went together, that left on his own for any period time, he was taking "it" apart.

I remember once, being in the Mayo L.I.D., this small tiny community in the Northwest Territories where I was training a woman to take over my job. The two of us took apart the photocopier. We cleaned it and put it back together. And it worked! We had no experience whatsoever and had no idea what we were doing. We laid every little piece and every little screw carefully in order as we took it apart.

After wards, the two of us were giggling with delight. Couldn't believe we did it or even that we had the nerve to try. But there was no repair available. So we tried it. It is absolutely amazing what each of us is really capable of, when the desire is strong enough.

To develop your creative intelligence you need to use it

If you really want to develop your creative intelligence, you've got to use it. The next time you are faced with a problem, try to solve it yourself. If it's not your area of expertise, see if you can't solve it instead of running to someone else.

If you find yourself wondering how something is put together, take it apart and understand how it works. Maybe come up with a new version. Just for fun.

Exercises you can try to stimulate - "new angle" thinking

  • how many uses - take any object or tool, and list how many uses you can dream up other than its original intended use.
  • rearrange a room - create a better arrangement that enhances traffic flow, or better utilizes the space
  • reorganize your kitchen cupboards - find a more efficient way to organize
  • problem solving - don't stop at the first solution, find endless solutions

Put your imagination to work. Don't just accept one solution, or the first one. Look at all the angles. You will find that it becomes a natural habit and you will begin waking up your creative intelligence.

In order to see new angles you must think new angles

Practice finding a new slant on everything and anything you can. You'll discover that we let our brains run on idle a lot of the time. And truly, when they're running on idle, they're generally up to no good. And what I mean by that is -- generally thinking worrisome thoughts about the possible future or rehashing old unfortunate incidences from the past. Such a waste of your creative mind!

Get your mind active, look for new angles at every opportunity and you will be surprised to find the capabilities of your own mind. Think and be creative and begin developing your own creative intelligence.

The Health Benefits of Common Spices, Including Black Pepper, Cinnamon, and Cayenne

By Anne Clarke

Black pepper, cinnamon, cayenne pepper – none of these spices are new or unusual to most people. In fact, these are spices that many of us use on a regular basis, especially black pepper. But did you know that these spices also have many health benefits? Did you know that there is more reason to use these spices than to simply add flavor and spice to a meal?

Black Pepper

In America, black pepper is one of the most commonly used spices. In fact, it is not uncommon for a person to use pepper with every meal – a little on his eggs, a bit on his sandwich and salad, a lot on his steak and corn… Fortunately, as it turns out, this is a good thing. Why? Because black pepper is good for us!

Black pepper improves digestion by stimulating the taste buds and thereby alerting the stomach to increase hydrochloric secretion. Black pepper is also an antioxidant, and it has antibacterial effects. But wait – there’s more! You will be very happy to know that the outermost layer of the peppercorn actually helps stimulate the breakdown of fat cells!

Black pepper also helps prevent the formation of intestinal gas, promotes urination, and promotes sweating. It is full of manganese, and it also has a good amount of iron and dietary fiber, as well.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon also has a very healthy dose of manganese, but the health benefits of cinnamon are different than those of black pepper. Cinnamon can help eliminate and prevent the clumping of blood platelets. The scent of cinnamon can boost brain function – in other words, smelling cinnamon can improve your virtual recognition memory, working memory, and more!

Cinnamon can also help stop the growth of bacteria. Some even say that cinnamon can be used as spicy alternative to traditional food preservatives. For people with type 2 diabetes, cinnamon is wonderful – it can help them respond to insulin and thereby normalize their blood sugar levels.

Cayenne

The list of benefits from cayenne pepper seems to go on and on: it fights inflammation, prevents stomach ulcers, boosts immunity, offers pain relief, has cardiovascular benefits, and helps clear congestion. It seems that no matter your ailment, a dose of cayenne will help you out! Cayenne is also full of vitamin A.

Who knew that making your food taste good could be so good for you? So, go ahead and add a little spice to your meal. Adding a bit of spice to your life may actually help you increase your lifespan!

Dead Sea Anti Wrinkle Treatment

By Chaim Golz

Are you aware of the theories of 2012 Mayan

Prophecies? As far as most people are concerned, a theory remains to be a theory unless an event occurs to prove the theory is right. This goes for the 2012 theory as well. The Mayan Calendar is an extremely accurate assessment of phases and distinctive events. It holds a lot of information about the Mayan culture as well as the controversial explanation of distinct events.

The 2012 Mayan Prophecies state that the end of the entire world will occur on December 12, 2012. This foretelling is based on the Mesoamerican start charting that began in the early 680 B.C. The Mayans are generally very adept in tracking winter solstice and gifted in making calendars.

The Mayans are an exceptionally bright peoples, adept in creating calendars of their own. Their calendar is called The Long Count. The Mayans mainly use their own careful observations to determine coming events such as how the stars move about the sky. Did you know that the Ancient Mayans were the first to discover the effect of the earth's wobbling when it spins on its own axis? They were also aware of many celestial things that have only recently been discovered through science.

Besides the Mayans, there are many other predictions that say that the world will come to an end in December 2012. The explanations vary from disasters, such as major cosmic catastrophe, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, wars and other extraordinary events culminating on December 12, 2012. Even Nostradamus had a lot to say regarding 2012. Due to this it seems that one should seriously consider the facts behind the theories.

If you are concerned about the events of 2012 mentioned in Mayan Calendar you should take action. Do your own research to determine what you believe. You may determine that there really isn't much to the predictions and then move on and let December 2012 come and go without much further thought. On the other hand, maybe you'll decide that there is enough evidence that something significant will happen in December 2012 that you should make some type of preparations. What we do know for certain is that December 21, 2012 is going to come and go and whatever is going to happen on or around that day is going to happen, regardless of what we believe. Therefore, live your life to the fullest each day because no one is ever promised tomorrow.

If you'd like to learn more about the importance of the events in 2012 you may want to check out this web site http://pullthrough2012.com
